Scope of Work
The contract involves Sidewalk Replacement at Dundas Street West, from Maclellan Street to Queen Street, including intersection aprons and other related infrastructure improvements in Quinte West, Ontario. The awarded work consists of the following key tasks:
Sidewalk Replacement and Related Works
- Traffic Control and Site Preparation
- Implementing traffic control measures, including coordination with O.P.P. Quinte West division for signalized intersections.
- Establishing pedestrian detours to ensure safety and accessibility during construction.
- Concrete Sidewalk and Boulevard Removal
- Saw cutting and removal of existing concrete sidewalk, curb, and asphalt boulevard.
- Proper disposal of all removed materials in accordance with environmental regulations.
- New Concrete Installation
- Concrete Sidewalk: Installation of 125mm thick concrete sidewalks with a smooth broom finish.
- Intersection Aprons & Tactile Plates: Installation of accessibility-compliant tactile warning indicators at pedestrian crossings.
- Curb and Gutter Installation: New curb and gutter sections to replace deteriorated infrastructure.
- Horizontal Saw Cutting: Precision-cutting of existing curb sections to match new sidewalk alignments.
- Site Restoration and Landscaping
- Placement of topsoil and hydroseed to restore disturbed areas.
- Final site cleanup, ensuring a safe and functional pedestrian corridor.
