Scope of Work
The contract involves the 2024 Sidewalk Replacement Project in the Township of King. The awarded work consists of:
- Sidewalk Removal and Replacement:
- Removal and replacement of 931.35 m² of existing concrete sidewalks to improve pedestrian safety and accessibility.
- Installation of new AODA-compliant pedestrian ramps at intersections and crossings.
- Use of 32 MPa concrete with air entrainment to enhance durability and performance in freeze-thaw conditions.
- Expansion joints installed at regular intervals to prevent cracking.
- Curb and Gutter Installation:
- Removal of damaged curb sections and installation of 97 m of new concrete curbs and gutters.
- Integration with existing drainage infrastructure to ensure proper stormwater flow.
- Traffic Control and Site Safety:
- Placement of temporary construction signage, barriers, and pedestrian detours.
- Coordination of road closures in compliance with Ontario Traffic Manual (OTM) Book 7.
- Ensuring proper worksite fencing and delineation for public safety.
- Site Restoration and Landscaping:
- Grading, topsoil placement, and hydroseeding or sod installation in disturbed areas.
- Full cleanup and disposal of construction materials and debris.
