Scope of Work

The contract involves the Loading Dock Renovation at the Peterborough Main Library, 345 Aylmer St N, Peterborough, ON K9H 3V7. The awarded work consists of the following key tasks:

Demolition and Site Preparation

  1. Removal of Existing Loading Dock 
    • Dismantling and removal of the current loading dock structure, including walls and doors.
    • Disposal of debris in accordance with environmental regulations.
  2. Structural Adjustments and Repairs 
    • Modifications to the brick wall to accommodate new installations.
    • Reuse of existing brickwork where necessary to maintain aesthetic consistency.
  3. Installation of New Features 
    • New Stairs: Reinforced concrete stairs for durability and safety.
    • Doors and Entryway: High-durability commercial-grade doors to replace the old entry points.
    • Lighting System: Energy-efficient LED lighting to improve visibility and safety.
    • Concrete Pad: New concrete surface to support loading and unloading activities.
  4. Finishing and Compliance Checks 
    • Application of weather-resistant coatings and anti-slip surfaces.
    • Compliance inspections to ensure adherence to safety codes and accessibility standards.
    • Final cleanup and site restoration.
