Scope of Work
The contract involves Concrete Replacement Services throughout various locations in the City of Barrie. The awarded work consists of the following key tasks:
Concrete Infrastructure Work
- Removal and Replacement of Existing Concrete
- Demolition and removal of deteriorated concrete slabs, curbs, sidewalks, and other existing structures.
- Off-site disposal of all removed materials in compliance with environmental regulations.
- New Concrete Construction
- Construction of new exterior cast-in-place concrete slabs on grade.
- Installation of curbs, sidewalks, and other pedestrian-accessible concrete infrastructure.
- Hot and cold weather curing of concrete for durability.
- Roadway and Driveway Restoration
- Asphalt restoration, unit paving, and cast-in-place concrete road surfaces.
- Excavation, removal, and backfilling of materials for proper leveling.
- Site Safety and Compliance
- Implementation of traffic control measures as per the Ontario Traffic Manual Book 7.
- Maintaining barrier-free access for businesses and residents during construction.
- Compliance with Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) regulations.
- Environmental Considerations and Landscaping
- Protection of existing vegetation and site elements.
- Grading and topsoil placement, sodding, and seeding for site restoration.
- Mechanical cutting of tree roots when necessary.
- Project Coordination and Scheduling
- Coordination with the City’s Contract Administrator for approvals and inspections.
- Scheduling of site visits and bi-weekly meetings to ensure project progress.
