- Site Protection and Preparation
-
-
- The contractor will arrange and secure all necessary underground locates before excavation begins.
- The site will be secured using 6-foot construction fencing to prevent unauthorized access.
-
- Concrete Removal and Disposal
-
-
- Break out deteriorated concrete sections and remove debris from the site.
- Ensure proper off-site disposal of all removed materials following environmental regulations.
-
- Excavation and Base Preparation
-
-
- Excavate and install a compacted granular base to support the new concrete installation.
- If the existing subgrade material is tested and found to have SPMDD >95%, an additional 150mm of subgrade material will be removed and replaced with Granular A, which will then be compacted to at least 95% SPMDD.
- Replace any tile drainage elements that may be damaged during excavation.
-
- Concrete Pouring and Finishing
-
-
- Form and pour approximately 6,200 square feet of 5-inch-thick concrete pad (actual dimensions to be confirmed by the contractor).
- Use Class C-2 concrete with the following specifications:
-
- 32 MPa compressive strength
- 0.45 water-to-cement ratio
- 5% – 8% air entrainment
- Maximum slump of 100mm
-
-
- Reinforcement with 6×6 W1.4/W1.4 wire mesh (10/10, 20lbs/100SF).
- Power trowel finish to ensure a smooth and durable surface.
- Sawcut crack control joints to prevent future cracking.
-
- Final Cleanup and Site Restoration
-
- Remove all remaining debris, soil, and construction materials from the job site.
- The worksite must be left in a clean and orderly condition, with all waste disposed of at approved sites.
