Project: T-3-2023 – Columbus Road Culvert Repair (CU_A07_05)

Scope of Work

The contract involves the Columbus Road Culvert Repair, located approximately 100m east of Country Lane, Whitby, Ontario. The awarded work consists of:

• Culvert Repairs and Replacement:
  • Removal of damaged culvert sections and replacement with new concrete structures.
  • Strengthening and stabilizing embankments to ensure proper water flow and prevent erosion.
  • Installation of new reinforced steel structures to enhance durability and longevity.
• Roadway and Drainage Enhancements:
  • Installation of stormwater management systems to control drainage and prevent flooding.
  • Reconstruction of affected road sections to match existing road elevations.
  • Placement of new asphalt pavement over culvert installations.
• Traffic Control and Site Safety:
  • Implementation of temporary lane closures and detours for safe vehicular movement.
  • Placement of construction barriers and warning signs for public safety.
  • Compliance with Ontario Traffic Manual (OTM) Book 7 for work zone safety.
• Environmental Protection Measures:
  • Implementation of erosion and sediment control as per Ontario Provincial Standards (OPS).
